Frequently Asked Questions
How do I order a skip?
You can order by ringing us from our number at the top of our website, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Simply choose the skip you require using our size guide, then click the order button to go direct to our secure online ordering section - it couldn't be easier!
Or if you would prefer, simply call the number at the top of our site and speak to one of our friendly operators.
What size skip do I need?
When choosing the size of your skip there are a number of important factors to consider. How much waste you need to dispose of? How much space you can provide on your property or on the road outside? What is your budget?
Remember, it is illegal to overload a skip, so be realistic about the amount of rubbish you need to throw away, and if unsure try to choose a skip that is slightly larger than your needs. It's much more cost-effective than hiring a second skip to remove any excess waste.
Countrywideskips.co.uk offer a comprehensive choice of skips to suit every customer requirement. Click here for a full list of sizes and prices plus further advice on use and suitability.
How much will it cost?
Due to regional variations in salaries, house prices, infrastructure and so on, some parts of the country are inevitably more expensive than others. Additional factors which may affect the cost of your skip include size, waste type, duration of hire, and of course VAT.
With over 400 local depots sited across the UK, Countrywideskips.co.uk can offer some of the most competitive skip hire rates in your area. The prices shown on this website are intended as a guide only. For a detailed quote based on your specific location and individual skip hire requirements, please call the number at the top of our site or book online using our 24/7 secure ordering facility.
How long can I keep it for?
You can hire a skip from Countrywideskips.co.uk for up to 7 days at no extra cost!* However, any extension to this initial hire period (including the provision of another local authority permit, if the skip is to be kept on the public highway) may incur further charges!
When your skip is full and ready for removal, simply call us via the number at the top of our site and our friendly customer service team will be happy to arrange a guaranteed collection for your convenience. You don't even need to be on the premises which means no frustrating delays waiting for our skip lorry to arrive and no need to waste annual leave from your workplace.
What can I put in my skip?

We do not accept: food waste, computer monitors, televisions, fridges or freezers, full paint cans, aerosols, solvents, liquids, oil, batteries, tyres, gas canisters, plasterboard (max 10% per load), clinical/medical waste or hazardous/toxic materials (including asbestos) in any form. Can I put a skip on the road?
It is illegal to place a skip on the public highway (including grass verges and pedestrian walkways) without an appropriate permit from the local authority, hazard warning lights and signage.
